My name Simon Colgan. I was born in the 1960's, a time when photography was starting to move forward at a rate of knots, and when cameras were becoming smaller, lighter and smarter. Although I use digital photography for most of my commercial work, I do specialize in film, which has been a hobby for many years. I love using old 1800-1970 cameras to create fine art from days gone by. I don't feel digital can capture the true romance that film can. I also specialize in creating film effects on digital images. Using film is about composing and thinking about each shot, it's not all about shooting 500 pictures and keeping 1, its about making every shot count!
I have been taking picture since I was a boy, and will never stop.
